What
is a Secondary Cataract?
The term “Secondary Cataract”, “After Cataract” or “Posterior
Capsular Opacification”, are all used to describe the process
where the residual lens capsule holding the intraocular lens
in the eye becomes cloudy. This happens in a small percentage
of patients. This capsule can be simply and painlessly removed
with a small painless laser procedure. This small laser procedure
is not the same as excimer laser for short sightedness.
